Remember Your Journey Thru Life.

Everybody has a past. What makes yours different from everyone else’s is that you actually lived and survived yours. Your life shoes were fitted for you and not for anyone else. Your past only shows where you have been. Your today dictates where you are going. Don’t let your past dictate where you are going.

Understanding where you were in life, in comparison to where you are, will help you to be able to understand where you are going. Only look back on your life to see how far you have gone. It’s not meant for you to stay looking back. Looking back is so that you can see what you have accomplished.

Peace can only come from loving yourself. If you are not at peace, nothing around you will be at peace.

If you run into 3 negative people, it may be time to look at yourself to see if you are also negative.

Laughter is good for the soul. Learn to laugh at yourself; only then will you see the joy in life.

Always remember to look at the positive side of things. Looking at the negative side will only make you bitter.

If you only put positive things out in your universe, only positive things can return back to you.

Life has ups and downs, but it’s when you are down that you truly discover what you are made of.

Start your day off right and wake up with a smile every day. It will brighten your mood in the morning and will last throughout your day.

Be courageous in your life. Be brave enough to try something different. Only then will you discover new life possibilities.

If you are always doing the same thing, you will always end up with the same results. Do something different and gain a different result.

If the shoe doesn’t fit, kick it off and put on another shoe. Don’t be afraid of change kick it off and put on another shoe. Don’t be afraid of change because change is good –  it opens up worlds of possibilities.

Give a little of yourself in every situation; you never know who you will be helping. It may not be for the person you are giving a little of yourself to, but they may know someone who needs to hear what you said.

Walk with your head held high, because if you are looking down, you won’t know where you are going. Even when it gets rough, hold your head up high so you can tell when you are at the top.

The path you walk in life was already predestined by your creator so allow your creator to lead and guide you along your journey in life.

Find your purpose in life. You will be much happier in life knowing you are living out your purpose.

Lastly, show gratitude towards everything in life. Be grateful enough to say thank you from the smallest to the greatest. Your universe will continue to bless you because it knows you will be thankful.

Trust Your Gut.

Whatever you believe, here are 3 reasons why you should listen to your intuition:

  1. Your intuition is shaped by your past experiences, and your existing knowledge which you gained from them. The more experienced you are in the domain you’re deciding on, the more accurately your intuition can offer you the most optimal decision. Although it can be useful to seek counsel from others, remind yourself that they don’t necessarily know what is best for you. Take their advice into consideration, if they’re more experienced than you are. In the end, your heart knows best. You lived your life and fully experienced it, making you the best person to decide what to do next. When it comes to life decisions which involve a lot of feeling and heart, like relationships, only you know what’s in your heart. Trust that you have all the knowledge and experience you need to make the decision that’s right for you.
  2. Your intuition is encoded in your brain like “a web of fact and feeling.”This is why intuition is so much more powerful than taking advice from someone else. Your intuition connects your body, mind, and spirit, and how those three elements have digested everything from your past. This web of fact and feeling makes you feel expansive, excited, and nervous about a new challenge if it’s right. On the contrary, you will feel deflated, lethargic, and terrified if it’s wrong.
  3. Your intuition connects you with all the nerve cells in your body. The butterflies you feel in your tummy—sometimes referred to as a “gut feeling”—before an important decision are a result of feeling the millions of nerve cells in there. The subconscious part of the brain sends signals to the nerves in the tummy to feel that way. What better way to make a decision than to listen to your full being (and not only your mind)?

The key to mastering what I consider the sacred gift of intuition is learning to listen to it. The more attention you give it, the more powerful and accurate it will become. Meditation can help you listen to your intuition more closely because it connects you with your inner being physically, psychologically and spiritually.

Taking time to reflect and simply relax can also help it rise to the surface. Often, we run from one place to another with an endless to-do list; only when we stop running can our mind catch up.

That’s when to take a moment to truly listen to your intuition and listen to your heart. As Blaise Pascal wisely said, “The heart has reasons that reason does not understand.” And your heart is always right.

My Short Story.

Most people say addiction isn’t a disease, it’s a choice. Well it is a choice, but it is also a disease. I been an addict for 36 years. My drug of choice was crack. I ate, slept and breathed it 24/7. I’ve been in and out of 4 different rehabs, but relapsed every time I got out. N/A meetings always made me want to use, so I never attended them anymore. On July 5, 2011, I called my dealer but he didn’t have anything, and thats the day I said “fuck it” and became clean. I was in my little apartment all alone going thru withdraw for 2 weeks. I was drenched in sweat, cried, was nauseous, and puked every 10 minutes. I had to sit on my hands so I wouldn’t pick up the phone to call my dealer. I pulled thru and have been clean ever since. 3 of my biggest passions in life are dancing, helping others and playing my violin. I had to give up playing my violin because I couldn’t remember the music because of what the drugs did to my memory. I should be in the symphony orchestra or playing for a band up on the big stage, but I chose drugs over my future. I graduated college at age 43 with my Associate’s Degree in Medical Billing & Coding. I may be getting a late start in life, but that’s ok. Better late than never. Folks, what I’m saying is you CAN be helped, and you CAN recover. You just need to want the help. I see and hear people almost everyday overdosing, and some make it and some don’t. That angers me because I know they could’ve been helped but didn’t want the help, and they don’t have to live their life suffering. I was forced to be helped, but I didn’t want it till I was ready. You can change for the better, but you have to want it as bad as you wanted that drug. You have to be strong and believe you can overcome this demon. Folks, I’m far from perfect, but I’m still here and my story isn’t over yet!! And if I can make it, you can too.

Stay Strong.

I relate very well to these 2 quotes. Every day I fight demons in my head. I suffer from Chronic PTSD, Chronic Anxiety,  and Major Depressive Disorder. I fight everyday of my life to be a better person than I was yesterday. I fight demons in my head 24/7 and some of those demons have taught me life lessons. We all struggle with depression and have demons, but there are different types of depression. And the serious kinds of depression you don’t have control over because it controls you. I know its hard, everyday is an uphill battle but I may be torn apart on the inside with a lot of pain, but I wear a smile on the outside and try to see the brighter things in life.
